Who we are
Key Charter Advisors is a municipal advisory firm in Sacramento. We work with charter schools on facility financing, working capital, and reporting after closing. Karl Yoder leads the firm.

Karl Yoder
Karl has worked with California charter schools for more than 25 years, on bond financings, loans, and short-term cash-flow borrowing.
On a financing, Karl helps the school’s leaders test the plan and prepare the board. He works with the underwriter or lender and the lawyers, prepares the school’s presentation to lenders and rating agencies, and reviews the documents and pricing before closing.
After closing, he helps schools track their covenants, file the required disclosure reports, and prepare for lender reviews. He also helps nonprofit school networks with budgets for new schools and expansions. Our focus is California charter schools, and we are available to nonprofit schools in other states.
How we work
The board should understand a deal before it votes.
We show the board what the money is for and what it will cost each year. The forecast is built on the school’s own enrollment and cash flow.

The school hires us as its advisor. We do not underwrite bonds or make loans.
